There are many ways you can get involved to support Time Out Youth.

Time Out Youth Mentors work one on one with our youth in a variety of ways. From facilitating discussion groups to chaperoning field trips, being a TOY Mentor is a rewarding opportunity to help our youth. This level of involvement is open to adults over the age of 25 and is best suited for someone who is interested in working with the youth over a longer period of time in a more involved capacity. Most of our Mentors allocate 3-4 hours a week of hands on volunteering. Reference checks and training are required for this volunteer role. To learn more about this opportunity, contact our Services Director, Laurie Pitts.

Our emergency housing hosts provide a unique and critical form of support to youth in crisis between the ages of 18 and 23. Typically, these youth arrive at Time Out Youth with little more than the clothes they are wearing. As a host, you agree to provide food and a safe, comfortable place to sleep for periods ranging from a couple of weeks to 3 months. You set the rules for your household and the youth pledge to abide by them. To learn more about this opportunity, contact our Services Director, Laurie Pitts.

Are you great at organizing people and events? Are you a hard worker who is willing to make things happen? Are you interested in making a difference at the same time as having fun and meeting other like-minded people? Then join our Volunteer Corps!
Even if you don’t have time for an ongoing commitment, there are opportunities for you to help with special events. Our need for special event volunteers varies, but we commit to meeting your availability and to giving you sufficient notice in advance. To learn more about these opportunities, contact our Volunteer Corps Coordinators.
Check out our events calendar to find out where you can get plugged in.
For the safety of our youth, all volunteers complete the volunteer application and submit to a criminal background check. Once we have processed your application, you will be added to our Volunteer Update email list.
