Myers Park Baptist Church
1900 Queens Road
Charlotte, NC 28207

9:15am - 12:30pm

There have been many grace-filled steps in the twenty year history of Time Out Youth-  the grace of leaders to blaze a trail and create a nurturing place for LGBTQ youth in Charlotte, the grace of each young person to authentically walk their walk as only they can, and the grace of friends, family and volunteers to walk alongside and help carry the load when the journey gets long. With each grace-filled step, Time Out Youth continues to be a beacon of support and advocacy for our LGBTQ youth.

Myers Park Baptist Church honors this vital agency, its leaders and youth with an invitation to join them for a Sunday morning of food, fellowship, and worship.

Please join us at 9:15 for a Patio Breakfast honoring Time Out Youth, located between Heaton Hall and the sanctuary. After breakfast, we hope you’ll join us in the sanctuary for Worship at 10:00 am, followed by Talkback at 11:00 am in Heaton Hall. Talkback is the congregation’s opportunity to respond to the sermon of the day through questioning, disputing or expanding on the theme. At the conclusion of Talkback, around 11:30, senior minister Dr. Stephen Shoemaker invites you to join him for a meditative walk of the labyrinth.

"When we open our hearts to each other we allow grace to enter. It is as simple as that. And suffering — events that break open the heart — can become the refiner's fire that leaves us fully open to the truth about love and compassion.    — Kathleen A. Brehony in Ordinary Grace
